Ted Ramirez the group's founder, is a noted Southwestern folksinger, songwriter and storyteller.
He formed the Santa Cruz River Band in the mid-1980's to present the wonderful Mexican and American folk music he grew up with living along the US/Mexico border.
The band currently is on break from touring and reconfiguring its membership. For over 7 years the Santa Cruz River Band has toured continually in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. The configuration included: Ted Ramirez, Arthur Miscione, Gilbert Brown, Michael Ronstadt and many celebrated guest musicians.
